Happy Birthday, Dad!

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

My Dad came to Vancouver on the weekend and I was so glad to have him here in town on his birthday. It was a treat to be able to celebrate his birthday together. We had a delicious meal at Cork & Fin (Roger and Dad went to town eating up raw oysters) and I finally gave him this painting that I’ve been working on (& promising to Dad) for far too long. The painting has a photo of Dad and I at my christening and the other photo is of Dad walking me into my wedding ceremony with Roger on the beach in Kauai. I really love how photographs are able to bring memories to life. Thank you, Dad, for being such a big source of inspiration to me. Happy happy birthday! I love you!

Oliver & Charlie’s Family Photos

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

What fun we had with the adorable Oliver, his little sister, Charlie, and their parents, Trea & Mac at their family photo shoot. Trea & Mac wanted some fall colours in their portraits so we headed over to False Creek and took a walk together hunting for lovely fall leaves. We loved how they brought along their adorable dachshund to be a part of the photos too. Oliver brought his favourite toy with him, his strider prebike, which he likes to call his motor bike. Oliver was adorable as he used his imagination to fill up the gas tank in his bike using leaves and called his leg his kickstand. Charlie is such a little sweetie with her cute little face, her squeals of laughter and her tentative attempts at walking. It really was a pleasure for us to spend time with this lovely family and capture them hanging out together and having fun.

Thank you, Trea, Mac, Oliver and Charlie, for a wonderful photo session. You really made us smile!

This is my favourite shot of the session.
