Roger photographed Ramona & Kevin’s wedding a few years ago, so it was such a treat to see them again and meet their feisty little man, Aiden. We met up with Ramona, Kevin & Aiden in Stanley Park for their family photo session late this fall. It was a super chilly day but Aiden did not want to wear his jacket. We played around together and captured some photos with them all playing together and hanging out. Aiden also didn’t want to pose to take pictures with Ramona & Kevin. We encounter this fairly often, a little one who just wants to do his own thing. Usually by playing together we build up trust and then we find that kids are more likely to pose in a more formal portrait for us. However, this time Aiden wasn’t having any of it. At one point Kevin put Aiden’s jacket back on and wow was he ever mad after that. Aiden took one look at me taking a picture of him in his cute Adidas track suit and a huge “No” erupted from him along with a kick in my general direction. I think the photo that I captured of that is pretty funny (one that Ramona & Kevin can tease Aiden with one day at his wedding!). So what did we do? Well, Roger brought out the jokes that every 3 & 4 year old loves – poo jokes. Roger pretended to fall over and then exclaimed that he landed in some poo and well, Aiden had to take a look. Then he could not stop giggling. It was super cute.

It was such a treat to see Zeralynne & Don again. Roger did their wedding photos in the fall of 2006 and when their daughter Ziara was born Roger went over to their house to take some family portraits for them. A few weeks ago we met up with them again in Mosquito Creek Park for family photos. This is really what we love to do – help our clients capture the precious moments in their lives with photography.

We were amazed to see how big Ziara has gotten and we were so happy to meet the newest edition to their family, little Donovan.   Ziara is quite the character and kept us laughing with the funny faces she was making. Isn’t Donovan the cutest little guy?

During the week before Gabi & Mike’s wedding, Gabi hired us to do family photos with her sister Nelli and her family. It was so lovely to meet Nelli, Marius and their gorgeous little girls Elise and Helene before the wedding. Even though Helene didn’t speak any English (they’re Norwegian, can’t you tell?) Roger still managed to play with Helene and get her giggling. We walked around Coal Harbour with the lovely family to get some typical Vancouver backdrops for their photos. We had a great time and it helped make Gabi & Mike’s wedding even more fun, which we didn’t think was possible. Thank you, Nelli, Marius, Elise & Helene for a great session. Hopefully we will see you again next time you are visiting Vancouver!
