On this cold and dark wintery day we’re enjoying getting some sunny cheer looking through the photos from the lovely Ritchies family photo shoot on the beach in Stanley Park. Roger photographed Jen & Dave’s wedding when he was starting his career in wedding photography so it was really fun for us to see them again and meet their adorable girls, Marlo & Gemma. We spent the shoot with them digging in the sand, running on the beach and giggling like crazy. Needless to say, we had a ball.

Roger photographed Ramona & Kevin’s wedding a few years ago, so it was such a treat to see them again and meet their feisty little man, Aiden. We met up with Ramona, Kevin & Aiden in Stanley Park for their family photo session late this fall. It was a super chilly day but Aiden did not want to wear his jacket. We played around together and captured some photos with them all playing together and hanging out. Aiden also didn’t want to pose to take pictures with Ramona & Kevin. We encounter this fairly often, a little one who just wants to do his own thing. Usually by playing together we build up trust and then we find that kids are more likely to pose in a more formal portrait for us. However, this time Aiden wasn’t having any of it. At one point Kevin put Aiden’s jacket back on and wow was he ever mad after that. Aiden took one look at me taking a picture of him in his cute Adidas track suit and a huge “No” erupted from him along with a kick in my general direction. I think the photo that I captured of that is pretty funny (one that Ramona & Kevin can tease Aiden with one day at his wedding!). So what did we do? Well, Roger brought out the jokes that every 3 & 4 year old loves – poo jokes. Roger pretended to fall over and then exclaimed that he landed in some poo and well, Aiden had to take a look. Then he could not stop giggling. It was super cute.

We had so much fun making our stop motion video that we had to do another one. Thankfully Pippi & Bean (aka Jacob & Noah) and their lovely parents were happy to have us take pictures for a movie while they decorated their tree. We just love Noah & Jacob’s little voices so we also brought along a microphone to capture them talking and singing about Christmas. We used the recording of their adorable voices as the soundtrack to the movie. If their crazy cuteness doesn’t get you in the Holiday spirit, we don’t know what will!
